Bookshop Workers Vote Yes for the Union in Santa Cruz

On February 3, 2021 an NLRB election was held for CWA Local 9423 for a unit of 31 employees. They work at Bookshop Santa Cruz and won with a 64 % win of 18 voting for the union and 10 voting against. This unit did face a small anti-union campaign that they overcame with Mobilizing Rallys, job actions, social media, community allies and constant communication with coworkers! Rodney Gonzalez EVP, Monica Alvarado Sec/Treas. and supported by Victor Serrano District 9 Organizing Coordinator worked on this. Congratulations to all involved!
