Important Bargaining Information 08/04/2021

Hello Everyone,

Members have been asking for more details on what is happening at the bargaining table.  We realize the bargaining updates are vague but please keep in mind that there are both legal and strategic reasons for that. However, we want you to understand the seriousness of what is happening at the bargaining table and what it means for ALL members.

Frontier has come to the bargaining table and proven what we have always believed.  They do not care about their workers, they only care about their profits!  We have worked hard to keep this company moving forward while their top executives steered us into a bankruptcy.  Now they add insult to injury by coming to the table with the following:

FRONTIERS RETROGRESSIVE PROPOSALS ARE:

• SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION TO THE 401K MATCH

• COMPLETE REMOVAL OF ALL JOB SECURITY LANGUAGE

• REDUCE OUR CALL OUT TIME MINIMUM (To avoid paying OT or Differentials)

• SIGNIFICANT INCREASES TO OUR HEALTHCARE COST

• SEVERELY INCREASE RETIREE HEALTHCARE COST

• DEDUCTIONS FROM OUR PERSONAL DAYS

• MODIFY OUR VACATION ARTICLES

• MODIFY/REDUCE OUR SICK BENEFIT ARTICLE

• BYPASS SENIORITY AND TRANSFER ABILITY TO UNION MEMBERS

• ADVERSELY ALTER OUR GRIEVANCE PROCESS

• REPLACING WORK AT HOME WITH A PLAN TO INVADE YOUR PRIVACY, SUCH AS, UNANNOUNCED HOME INSPECTION, USE OF ELECTRONICS AND ZERO JOB SECURITY.

• INCREASED USE OF CONTRACTORS.

• POSSIBLE LAYOFFS FOR FORCED RELOCATION DUE TO SOLD COMPANY REAL ESTATE.

• ELIMINATION OF CALL ROUTING PROTECTIONS AND OUTSOURCING PROTECTIONS.

None of this matches up with the discussions our new CEO, Nick Jeffery has been having during his listen live events! Nick has talked about building gigabit America but you can’t do that without the union workers!!!  It's time we remind him of that!  CWA MEMBERS WILL NOT SETTLE FOR LESS THAN WHAT WE’VE EARNED!

What can YOU do?

·      Take part in each and every mobilization activity no matter how small it may seem!

·      Work to the rule!

·      Do not do sit in management work!

·      Stay informed!

·      Make sure other members are up to date.  (Ask them if they have read the most recent bargaining update.  Ask them if they completed the mobilization activity.)

·      Don’t believe everything management tells you! When in doubt ask a union rep

·      If something changes in your work group, make sure to tell a steward or call the local.  Don’t assume the union knows!

·      If you are asked to volunteer for anything (going on loan, doing another areas works, taking cross training for a job function that is not yours), check with your union rep before making a decision!

California is a moneymaker for this company!  There is no reason the company should be trying to strip our contract of the benefits we’ve fought hard for and earned over the years.  Stand together and stand strong because that’s how we win!

In Solidarity,
