Bargaining Bulletin #45 July 13, 2016
CWA Local 9408 Informational Picket
The Union Bargaining Team has been meeting in sub-committee this week to prepare a counter proposal to the Company’s Health & Welfare Plans for all employees and retirees.
The Benefit plans include medical, dental and vision which are the main concerns since they deal primarily with cost sharing, deductibles and co-pays.
The benefit proposal also includes pension plan improvements for the Defined Pension, the Bargained Cash Balance and the Bargained Cash Balance #2 Plans. Retiree benefit improvements include increases in company contributions toward pre-Medicare retiree health plans and annual Healthcare Reimbursement Accounts (HRA) credits available to Medicare eligible retirees.
The Union and Company are still far apart on all economic issues. This is not business as usual. Your Bargaining Team needs your support with a strong mobilization presence in the workplace.
Work to rule, wear your Union colors and participate in your Local’s mobilization activities.
