AT&T Bargaining Bulletin #11
March 27, 2024
We regret the delay in providing you with a progress report, but honestly, the negotiations have hit significant roadblocks. Despite our dedicated efforts over the past week, your bargaining team has spent an exorbitant amount of time discussing the items at the table. We've made very little progress as the company has held firm that it's in the member's best interest to “be more attractive.” Clearly, being more attractive means, we need to feel honored to have a job while completely disregarding the substantial contributions of the employees of a company that made 16.8 billion in free cash flow last year. The company feels you should be honored to give back to the business.
Regrettably, substantive advancements have been minimal. While the company made a ridiculous offer regarding pension adjustments, it falls short of meeting our needs, with increases only occurring every other year during the proposed agreement. Moreover, their proposed medical coverage, though initially cost-effective, poses significant risks in case of illness or injury, potentially burdening you with unforeseen expenses. The Kaiser option they presented also fails to meet our standards and could entail unpredictable out-of-pocket costs for medical visits.
We have yet to settle on anything significant. They have rejected every single Appendix E proposal we have put across the table and have yet to offer anything that would improve the quality of life for our Appendix E members.
There are two rallies scheduled for this weekend, one in the north and one in the south on Saturday, the 30th. Please show up. Contact your local for the details.
