AT&T Bargaining Bulletin #22
May 30, 2024
The bargaining team officially met on the record with the company today for the first time in weeks. The company informed the bargaining team weeks ago that they wanted to meet in subcommittees to try to reach an agreement quickly. After weeks of discussing items that they wanted in the subcommittee, they put together a package proposal and passed it today.
This package was insulting, dishonest, and disingenuous, to say the least. They tried to slip in language that was never discussed in the subcommittee. They added items into the package that they told us were off the table. They promised to increase financials but made almost no progress.
Package lowlights:
- They have a relentless attack on Article 2
- They made NO pension increase.
- They are not adding any meaningful improvements to Appendix E
- They attempted to package all the above for a 1% wage increase, which includes no retro pay, even though the company constantly delays meaningful bargaining.
We are still light years apart and refuse to settle for a substandard contract. The company, despite making record profits that they remind you of every quarter in your company email, is pushing for a contract that only benefits them.
