CWA/ AT&T Bargaining Bulletin #50
August 10, 2016
Local 9511 575 N. Quince Escondido Maintenance Splicers
CWA District 9 Vice President, Tom Runnion and Chief Negotiator for the Union, Ellen West met with AT&T Vice President, Labor Relations Melba Muscarolas and AT&T Labor Relations Director, Jon Irelan today regarding the status of bargaining.
Vice President Runnion restated the Union’s position on the “Scope of Work” issues for the Premises Technicians stating the Union is not interested in a 40¢ an hour wage increase to give up the work that currently belongs to Wage Schedule 12 employees.
The Union also reiterated that the cost share for Health Care premiums should remain status quo. As it is today, our members are paying enough toward Health Care premiums. More than half of our members are in the Kaiser HMO and the lower cost of the Kaiser premiums to the Company helps subsidize the Company’s sponsored Health Care plan. There is no reason for AT&T to push more Cost Sharing for Medical Premiums onto the workers.
AT&T has reported 2016 2nd Quarter Earnings with Revenues up 22.7% and Net Income up 10.6%. This Company is more profitable today than ever before. Randall Stephenson, Chairman and CEO attributes this profitability to the front line workers.
The Union is demanding its FAIR SHARE for the workers that make AT&T and its shareholders profitable!
It’s time to tell you supervisor that we want a FAIR CONTRACT and we want it now!
FIGHTING FOR FAIRNESS!
All official negotiation and mobilization information will be delivered on the District 9 website. (www.district9.cwa-union.org), Local Websites and email lists.
