CWA/ AT&T Bargaining Bulletin #64
December 7, 2016
CWA Local 9510 in Tustin
The Union and Company Bargaining Committees met informally yesterday to discuss outstanding Requests for Information that the Company has yet to respond to. The Company is hoping to have responses to many of the requests by the end of the week.
The Union presented the Company with a draft Memorandum of Agreement regarding Overtime procedures for Premises Technicians. The Union is proposing similar treatment of Premises Technicians to that of our Appendix ‘A’ Technicians.
Both Committees are going through the Memorandum’s of Agreement to finalize the list for bargaining. There was agreement on both sides. There are still remaining Memorandum’s of Agreement to be finalized.
The Committees will meet again this week to discuss Article 2 letters confirming understanding between the parties regarding Force Allocation, Appendix D Wage Tables and Medical Plans, and Leveraged Title issues regarding sales quotas and target relief.
Too few Americans know labor history and how they have benefited from the efforts of unions. We have a 40-hour work week, defined benefits, higher wages, paid vacations and sick leave, largely as a result of union activity in the 20th century. We built a middle-class society in the period after World War II, also a period when the work force was, compared with today, heavily unionized. ~ Ken Bernstein, “No unions: Government by the rich, for the rich”, CNN, Feb. 24, 2011
All official negotiation and mobilization information will be delivered on the District 9 website. (www.district9.cwa-union.org), Local Websites and email lists.
