CWA Local 9511 Activists Picketing an AT$T Mobility Location

On Friday, January 13, 2017, an AT&T Local Presidents meeting was led by CWA District 9 Vice President Tom Runnion to discuss the status of AT&T bargaining, AT&T Mobility and DirecTV bargaining. CWA National President Chris Shelton joined by telephone.

Discussions were held regarding Mobilization and member participation for the AT&T Core unit, DirecTV and the kick off for AT&T Mobility on January 25, 2017.

District 9 has been working with a Public Relations firm- Berlin Rosen to get the bargaining message out to our membership, communities and elected Officials. It is incumbent upon each Local to engage the membership as we continue bargaining with AT&T Core and DirecTV, and start bargaining for our Sisters and Brothers at AT&T Mobility.

No new dates for AT&T Core bargaining have been scheduled.DirecTV goes back to the bargaining table on February 8 and Feb 9. AT&T Mobility Bargaining kicks off on January 25, 2017. The Mobility contract expires February 11, 2017. The support of our membership is needed to be successful at the three Bargaining tables!

Please go on the CWA DISTRICT 9 MOBILIZATIONpage on Facebook for videos, bulletins and activities.

“Corporate Greed Hurts Customers and Workers” is the message to the Legislators in District 9’s AT&T regions. Locals in District 9 are reaching out to Legislators regarding AT&T’s refusal to bargain a fair and just contract with CWA. It has been almost 12 months since CWA has started bargaining with AT&T.

The CWA Union Bargaining Committee has notified AT&T that until they get serious at the bargaining table, the Union team will be moving out of the Hotel and going back to their respective work locations.  The three major roadblocks are Healthcare, Premises Technician Scope of Work and New Hires.

Your CWA Bargaining Committee stands ready and willing to bargain the contract to completion, but they need a receptive company team to do so.

If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl; but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.  –Martin Luther King, JR

All official negotiation and mobilization information will be delivered on the District 9 website. (cwad9.org), Local Websites and email lists.
