CWA-AT&T Mobility Bargaining Report #10, Friday, February 1, 2013
Bargaining resumed today in yet another record breaking speed session. One of these days we will meet and actually get down to some real bargaining.
Today the only Company proposal was a counter to what the Union passed on Article 20-Travel. The Union requested that the Company pay any applicable cost of public transportation. The Company obviously felt this would pinch their purse strings and countered by saying they would pay public transportation as long as it doesn’t exceed the IRS allowable reimbursement for mileage expenses. Let’s keep in mind we are getting this from a multi-billion dollar Company. The Union once again tried to address the ridiculous stressors associated with monitoring by passing yet another proposal on Letter of Agreement 12-Job Satisfaction.
The Union also passed another proposal on Article 21-Absence specific to improvements to the funeral language.
With only 1 week left to contract expiration we have not even touched on the economic issues associated with the contract and the company has yet to respond too many of the union’s proposals.
As a reminder strike votes are currently being conducted by the Locals. Please make sure to check when your strike vote is taking place and vote. Remember a yes vote sends a strong message to the Company that you have given your bargaining committee the power to do whatever it takes to get you a fair and equitable contract.
Bargaining resumes Saturday, February 2, 2013.
