National Day of Action at Mobility Stores from Coast to Coast Turn the Up the Heat in the Streets
On March 9, 2017, more than 20 Mobility Retail stores across California and Nevada were flooded with informational pickets to express our outrage against AT&T’s Greed which is hurting our communities, customers and workers. Similar actions took place from coast to coast at Mobility retails stores nationwide. The only thing standing between fair contract agreements for over 24,000 workers and families in District 9 who work for AT&T West, Mobility and DIRECTV is the AT&T’s insatiable need to for MORE….. MORE money from customers while AT&T’s Chief Executive officer proposes to reward himself with MORE compensation. MORE service outages including emergency calls to 911 while shipping MORE hometown jobs overseas. MORE productivity and mandatory overtime while demanding employees pay MORE for healthcare.
AT&T regularly forces us to work overtime with little to no prior notice. In our latest video, we’re calling them out for this unacceptable practice. Watch the video
Please share this post so that your family and friends understand why we’re taking a strong stand against AT&T’s unjust business practices.
For nearly year AT&T West and DIRECTV members have toiled without a contract. This means that there’s no guarantee whatsoever that even our most basic rights will be respected. That’s why we’re accelerating our actions against AT&T and are prepared to go on strike if necessary to protect our jobs and time with our family.
Our next call to Action will be a rally in San Jose, California to mark the 1 year contract expiration in AT&T West and the fight since April 2016 for a first contract for DIRECTV members in California and Nevada. This event will be held on Sunday, April 9th at 12:00 noon at 904 Blossom Hill Road, San Jose, CA 95129.
AT&T has announced that its Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be held on April 28, 2017 at 9 am at the Dallas City Performance Hall located at 2520 Flora St; Dallas TX 75201. If you are a stockholder, please hold on to you proxy, as will we be providing shortly information regarding the items that are due to be voted on at this year’s meeting. We can collectively send a resounding message to the Executive Offices and shareholders if we vote together. If you are interested in attending, please contact your Local union for information. We will be planning activities for the meeting which will be forthcoming.
Our weekly mobilization pickets will continue across District 9 and the rest of the country. We are all stepping up and proudly accepting the task of shaping our futures.
