This dinner was centered around celebrating labor. The dialogue revolved around the importance of Unions and Organizing. Guests spoke about their experiences with labor unions, workers, their families, our future in regards to labor and their personal joys regarding the fight.

Labor unions came out to celebrate the individuals that have helped and continue to help fight for labor and to pass legislation to strengthen the labor movement. It was extremely poetic that during the dinner, the Hospitality Workers in Nevada were picketing multiple locations: and even were visited by President Joe Biden on Monday, February 5, 2024, ahead of a tentative agreement with several Las Vegas casinos and a called off strike deadline for another.

This event galvanized the labor movement and thanked those that helped to lead the fight time and time again. A great show of solidarity and a wonderful example of union/labor activism at its best. CWA D9 looks forward to more positive and uplifting events and actions like this in the state of Nevada.
