Protecting Yourself from Ebola Virus and Other Infectious Diseases

You are invited to attend a one-day pilot training designed for members who potentially could be exposed to the Ebola virus and other infectious diseases — including social workers and others in health care who haven’t received the specialized training of front-line infectious disease workers, clinical lab workers, pharmacists, and animal care lab technicians.

The training was developed by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Occupational Safety and Health Department, the United Steelworkers (USW) Health, Safety, and Environment Department, as well as Make the Road New York and the National Day Labor Organizing Network, and is funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

The first CWA training will be held:

Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

UPTE-CWA Local 9119, 2855 Telegraph Avenue, Suite 310

Berkeley, California

CWA will reimburse all participants a stipend of $100.00. UPTE-CWA Local 9119 will pay mileage costs and host lunch and breaks. (Parking behind the UPTE office is free on weekends.)

To register (and to answer questions) contact Joan Lichterman at joan@upte-cwa.org or joanlichterman@gmail.com, or call 510-414-3899.
