Today, on World AIDS Day
Today, on World AIDS Day, I am proud to be reminded of how far we have come since CWA first began our partnership with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF).
With CWA’s help, EGPAF has made incredible progress. Since the inception of EGPAF’s work in Africa, EGPAF has reached over 25 million women with lifesaving services, such as HIV counseling, testing, and treatment, to promote and protect their health and to prevent transmission of HIV to their babies.
Anna, a young woman living with HIV in Tanzania, is one of these women. This summer EGPAF debuted Anna’s Story, a moving short film chronicling Anna’s journey.
I hope that you will take a few minutes to watch Anna share her personal journey, and consider sharing the video with other CWA activists and leaders. Anna’s success is a testament to your support and how together we are changing the lives of children and families living with HIV.
Thank you for your continuing support of this important work, on World AIDS Day and every day.
In unity,
Sara Steffens
Secretary-Treasurer, CWA
